Science Learning in Week 3!

On Wednesday we explored how moving air is different to still air. We found that moving air has less pressure than still air and that this pressure difference cause the still air to push in on the moving air. This creates interesting phenomena like: not being able to blow a ping pong ball out of a funnel, keeping a ping pong ball floating in a stream of air from a hairdryer (even when tilted sideways), and causing a ping pong ball to jump from one cup to another. We learned that this is Bernoulli's Principle (albeit a very simple explanation of it!). Check out our photos below of what we got up to and the video of our attempts at the challenge!
